The Festival Opera Theatre was created with the aim to present to the audience the masterpieces of the classical operatic music in innovative productions; to promote an artistically challenging work environment for talented performers; and to engage important directors, designers and conductors who provide high standards of achievement.
In the structure of the Festival Opera Theatre are included the excellent Sofia Festival Orchestra, continueing the tradition, begun from its founder Emil Chakarov with the records of the Russian operas for Sony Classical, the Bulgarian National Philharmonic Choir, the Bulgarian National Radio Children's Choir and the National Ballet Sofia.
Festival Opera Theatre works also in collaboration with the National Opera Sofia, in the first place with its choir, which is well known with its presentations in the major theatres abroad and with the important records made for Sony Classical.
The company disposes of rich international cast of talented singers, conductors and producers. The scenery and the costumes are created especially for the productions of Festival Opera Theatre. All mentioned above makes the Festival Opera Theatre a flexible organization with a possibility of realizing a large repertory of operatic works.
