Тrifon Mitev

Trifon Mitev is one of the most outstanding soloists of the Sofia National Ballet. He graduated the State Choreographic School in Sofia (now National School of Dance Art) as a student of Rumen Rashev.

Two seasons after he had joined the ballet troupe of the National Opera and Ballet he was invited to dance on the stage of the Royal Ballet of Wallonia, Belgium. After his returning to Bulgaria he became a member of the National Ballet and participated as a guest - Prime soloist inBallet "Arabesk", the Rousse Opera and the National Music Theater in Sofia. He performed in a remarkable way the central parts of Siegfried in "Swan Lake", the Prince in "Cinderella", Prince Desire in "The Sleeping Beauty", Albert in "Giselle", Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet", Yorgos in "Zorba the Greek" etc.Together with the modern dance company "Arabesk" he took part in performances such as "Carmina Burana", "Love dialogues" etc. He participated successfully in many international ballet competitions.

In 2006 Trifon Mitev was honored with the "Crystal Lyre" Award for Ballet Arts for his part in the ballet "The Modest woman"' in music by Prokofiev, Rachmaninov  and Stravinsky, and for the part of Albert in the ballet "Giselle" by Adolph Adam on the stage of the Sofia Opera and Ballet theatre.

In March and April 2009 Trifon Mitev was invited by Serdica Music to perform the central parts in "Giselle" and "Swan Lake" together with the Ballet of Rousse in series of performances presented in

Teatro de Madrid in the capital of Spain. For these performances he received the highest evaluation by critics and audience.
